Mala, a small kangaroo also known as a wallaby, is native to eastern Australia and inhabits rocky outcrops, escarpments, cliffs with caves, and ledges. She primarily feeds on native grasses, young shoots, leaves, fruits, and other plants. Occasionally during droughts, she may travel to properties in search of water and food, and she may also consume fungi. Mala sleeps at night and prefers to rest lying on her side or back, using her forelimbs to support her chest and head.
